After I finish this article, the world will be mine! A cheerful Alice appeared briefly in one of Betty 's nightmare about the Black Hood coming for her in a Santa Claus costume covered in blood, and her corpse was seen along those of her husband and Polly as the Black Hood crawled the couch to get Betty before she woke up.
Alice was baking Polly's favorite Christmas cookies when Betty returned home in the evening, hoping that a Christmas miracle would bring Polly back home.
Alice told Betty that a gift from her Secret Santa has been delivered to them and that she had brought it to her room.
Alice came home from the grocery store, and started rambling with Betty about Mayor McCoy 's schemes that led to the closure of Southside High.
As soon as Betty mentioned Polly , Alice immediately became cheerful, starting to talk about nursery rooms and other baby needs.
Betty, silencing her recent meeting with her sister, asked her mother if she had news about her but Alice said she didn't. The following day, Betty gathered her parents into the kitchen to confess that Polly had the twins.
While Hal tried to cope with the news, Alice could hardly stop her tears, realizing that her eldest daughter had cut them off from her and her children's life.
Alice immediately asked Betty if Polly was alright and the children were healthy, slightly reassured by Betty's positive reply.
Betty, then, proceeded to reveal another secret. After a recent digging, she had found her biological brother, given up for adoption many years before.
Betty barely had time to mention his name, Charles , that Hal scolded her severely and Alice avoided arguing further with her husband, clearly upset by the recent revelation, and consenting to end the conversation.
The next day, Alice and Betty went to the address Betty had obtained through Ms. The man directed them to the room 27, and mother and daughter walked the shabby corridor until they dared to enter the room.
Once inside, Alice introduced herself and Betty to a young man sitting in the dim light of the room. Before Alice could reveal who she was, the blonde man claimed to know who she was; the Sisters of Quiet Mercy had given her the name and address to him when, eighteen years old, they had kicked him out of the facility.
He revealed that he had passed near the house, and Alice asked him why he had not wanted to meet them. Charles unleashed his frustration as a son abandoned to Alice and Betty and when Alice tried to justify himself, he corrected her, saying his name was " Chic ", not Charles, and sent them out because he was waiting for a client's visit.
Alice looked around, asking him what kind of work he did for a living, but he sent them away, scoffing at Alice's concern.
Once out of the hostel, Alice just had time to get in the car when she burst into tears, hugged by Betty. The following evening, Betty returned home with Chic, who had been beaten up by a guy at the hostel and was bleeding from his arm.
Alice and Hal immediately rushed to medicate his wound. The next morning, Alice prepared a hearty breakfast for the family. The meal, however, was spoiled by Hal 's intrusive questions about Chic.
Although Alice had remarked that Chic could stay at their home for as long as he wanted, Hal continued to meddle until Betty also expressed interest in Chic's "clients".
Alice, startled, tried to hold a decent conversation at the breakfast table, attempting in vain to sweeten with maple syrup Chic's revelations about the tough customers provided by Marcel, the manager of the hostel he lives at.
Some time later, Alice was showing a photo album to Chic, trying to create a loving relationship with the long-lost son, while Betty received a phone call from Kevin about Chic.
Another meal lovingly cooked by Alice was again spoiled by Hal, claiming that Chic was only filling the void left by Polly , their daughter.
Alice was about to counter, but Chic preceded her, silencing Hal, making Alice proud. On Pickens Day , Alice tried to cheering up one that had every reason to be an awkward family meal.
Regardless of this, Alice continued with her intentions to plan a perfect day since it was their first outing day as a family.
Her cheerfulness was soon ruined by Hal, who revealed that he would be staying behind considering he had a few odd jobs to do around the house.
Alice, however, didn't seem bothered by her husband's absence during the celebration, asserting that it was fine and that she would not beg.
She, then, filled to the brim Chic's plate, with Betty and Chic silently taking part in the meal. The three of them went to the Pickens Day celebratory event in Pickens Park, where Alice asked her son if he ever had a maple snow cone, to which he replied he didn't.
Alice claimed to be happy, holding both her children arm in arm but her happiness soon became spoiled by Hal, rushing towards them.
The man claims to have been browsing in the Chic's computer and having discovered his filthy secret job, asking both Alice and Betty if they had the slightest idea of what kind of boy they welcomed into their home.
Alice remarked that Polly was no longer part of their lives and that she will not hesitate to throw Hal out of the house if necessary, having already done it once before.
Once the man walked away, Alice apologized with her "honey" for her husband's behavior and, taking Chic arm in arm, she told the kids to get some cones.
Afterwards, the three of them were enjoying their dessert during the performance of " Veronica and the Pussycats " when a group of Southsiders came to protest during the event, claiming that Pickens Day celebration was based on lies and the slaughtering of innocent men, women, and children.
Alice listened to Toni Topaz speaking their reasons and exchanged a concerned glance with Betty to the way Hiram Lodge tried to diminish the protest in a clear attempt to save the event sponsored by Lodge Industries.
Having heard voices from Betty 's bedroom, Alice tried to eavesdrop the conversation while complaining about her feelings about locked doors with her daughter.
Betty opened the door wearing a bathrobe, sarcastically remarking that it was Alice the one who likes to do the locking. Alice asked again what was going on and who Betty was talking to, as she had heard voices.
Betty said she was talking to Jughead about homework. The conversation ended with Betty closing the door and Alice not buying it completely.
Some time later, Alice and Betty were standing at the front door with Hal holding a suitcase, about to leave the house.
Her husband gave her an ultimatum: either Chic goes or he goes, but Alice wasn't willing to take part in these whims.
She tried to make Hal understand that Chic wasn't hurting anyone and that he had found a job at the Bijou , and that he had even offered to pay them the rent and had no idea what was Hal beef with him.
Hal answered that Chic was a stranger, but Alice quickly replied that he should make an effort and get to know him. Throughout the conversation, Betty supported her mother in the discussion.
However, Hal didn't change his position and told her wife and daughter to call him when Chic was gone?
Annoyed, Alice left the room, saying: "Fine, Hal, do what you want. At dinner time, Alice and Chic were alone at the table, saying to her son that it was typical of his sister to get caught up in something and drops off the face of the Earth.
Chic asked about Hal just as someone rang the doorbell, and Alice went to open the door, saying it was probably Hal.
Surprisingly, instead of Hal, she found a lanky young man with bleached hair , asking for Chic. By the time Betty got home, Alice was kneeling on the floor, dabbing with towels the pool of blood flowing out the corpse of the man who came looking for Chic.
With a light breathlessness, she asked Betty addressing her by her full name, Elizabeth if she had locked the front door.
Alice prevented Betty from calling the police, terrified that they would take Chic away from her, again. She quickly explained that the " Shady Man " had attempted to assault her and that Chic had defended her and found herself forced to accept Betty's help when she received a phone call from her father , headed to the house to take some toiletries.
Mother and daughter immediately cleaned the blood on the floor with bleach. Alarmed by a noise coming from the outside, the two women turned to the origin of the noise but, having a more serious problem at the time, they did not pay much attention to it.
When Hal got home, they had just finished cleaning the floor and started acting as if nothing happened, even when Hal complained of the house stinking like a hospital.
Alice promptly lied to her husband, saying she had accidentally spilled some tomato soup and didn't want it to stain.
As soon as Hal left the house , Alice hurried up Betty to hook the phone and help her carry the corpse out of the house. In the car, the two discussed what to do.
Betty was worried that someone would come looking for the man, but Alice expressed herself against such an eventuality because people disappear every day and the Shady Man did not strike her as the family-type; She also noted he walked around without a wallet.
The two then drove through the woods and dragged the corpse wrapped in a carpet into a sewer pipe. Alice explained that the sewer system had been shut down decades earlier and that it used to be her secret place as a little girl.
Before leaving, they covered the wrapped corpse with rags, leaves and other garbage found in the pipe. Back home, Alice and Betty began cleaning up any surface that might have come into contact with the Shady Man, making sure to destroy any evidence of their guilt.
The following morning, Alice prepared chocolate-chip pancakes for breakfast and was having a joyful meal with her son, as if nothing had happened.
When Betty said that she didn' like chocolate-chip pancakes, Alice said to her to have some cereals instead.
Breakfast was interrupted by the doorbell and Betty, frightened, dropped the cup of milk and cereal on the floor, breaking it.
The tension became very high until Betty opened the door and discovered that it was only Jughead wanting to walk to school together.
At around dinner time, Alice was playing Clue with Chic in the living room when Betty returned home and immediately went to her bedroom, leaving Alice and Chic to spend the evening alone.
A few days later, Betty Chic accused of lying to them at the dining table. She had retrieved the Shady Man's phone, thus discovering that he was not one of Chic's customers, but a drug dealer.
Alice reacted worryingly, asking Betty why she had returned to the sewer pipes. Betty replied she wanted to make sure in broad daylight that no one could see the corpse from the trail.
Alice was immediately worried that someone could track the phone, but Betty reassured her that she already turned off the GPS.
Alice struggled to calm Betty down, who in the meantime had started screaming at a crying Chic. Alice advised her daughter to cut it off because if she kept it up, it would lead them to be caught and that Betty had to worry about her own family, rather than the hypothetical family of a drug dealer.
A few nights later, Alice and Betty were in the kitchen where Alice discovered that Hal had been home and that there had been an argument between Hal, Betty, and Chic.
She also discovered that the Shady Man's car had been parked in front of their home in the last few days and that Betty got rid of it with Jughead's help.
Alice was very worried, saying that she could not go to the police but Betty insisted that they needed help, and not from the police.
Alice and Betty went to the Jones' trailer in Sunnyside Trailer Park , where Alice tried to explain to the old friend what happened but FP said her to save it, because Jughead had just told him everything.
He said he would not allow the three of them to make the same mistake that he had made with Jason Blossom , and invited them in the trailer.
All three were frightfully silent, lost in their thoughts until FP joined them, saying he got rid of the body. When Jughead told his father that he reeks, FP explained that it was due to the sodium hydroxide he used.
In a week, there'll be nothing left of the Shady Man, not even his teeth. Alice apologized to FP for involving them in such an unpleasant situation, thanking him for their help.
Alice was sitting at the dining room table with Betty and Hal when her husband asked for a divorce. Alice folded her arms, asking him if he was still seeing Penelope Blossom but Hal denied it, stating that he wanted to get divorced to get free because he was extremely disappointed for having been abandoned over a stranger after twenty years of devotion in their marriage.
Alice was surprised to see that Betty agreed with her father to want Chic out of their house, so she counterattacked accusing Hal of selling The Register to Hiram Lodge.
At this point, Hal said he was willing to share the sale gain if Alice agreed to divorce, and she claimed to be willing to listen to his offer.
Alice was stunned but immediately suggested to Jughead to get in contact with Pop Tate. Some time later, Alice was very happy because Polly had returned home with her grandchildren, and she and Chic were holding one of the twins each.
Alice asked Betty if she wanted to hold one of the twins but when she was about to give the baby to her, Betty took the one from Chic's arms.
Shortly after, Polly asked where her father was and if they would all go together to the reading of Cliff Blossom 's last will and testament.
During the reading of the will at Thistlehouse , Alice burst into the room publicly accusing Hal he only wanted a divorce so that he could cheat her out of his "big, fancy Blossom payday.
Alice went on with her outburst, accusing Hal, Penelope and the rest of the Blossoms in the room of being an "inbred cesspool of a family" and that she would get half of anything Hal was going to get.
Penelope asked Alice to leave, but Alice shut her up, calling her a "half-melted ten cent trollop". Back home, Alice was cooking dinner while Polly and Betty talked about their upcoming income from Cliff Blossom's inheritance.
As they informed Chic about the blood test to ascertain that they had Blossom's blood in their veins to be able to inherit, Chic said he would not do any blood tests since he didn't know them.
Polly replied that the Blossoms were their cousins and whether they liked it or not, they shared the same blood. Alice pointed out that she does not.
When Polly and Betty became suspicious of Chic's reaction, he added that he was also afraid of needles. Alice told her daughters to leave their brothers alone and the Coopers started their dinner.
A few days later, Alice was playing with the twins in the living room along with Betty and Polly when Chic came down the stairs asking her if she could drive him to work since he was late.
Alice replied that she couldn't because she was with the twins, and suggested him to take the bus or walk.
In the evening, Alice was knitting sitting on the couch when Polly and Betty returned home after spending the afternoon together, shopping.
The girls were immediately alarmed when Alice revealed to them that the twins were not home, but that Chic had brought Juniper and Dagwood for a walk along Sweetwater River.
Alice, completely oblivious to Polly and Betty's concern, reassured them that they were fine and shortly after Chic came home with the babies, safe and sound.
The next morning, Alice was having breakfast with Chic when Polly entered the room and revealed that she was planning to move to San Francisco.
Alice asked if she could say goodbye to the twins and, after getting permission from her daughter, left the room. Later, Alice was among the crowd gathered at Hermione Lodge 's rally, where she presented herself as a candidate at the race as the next mayor of Riverdale.
When Alice was cornered by Betty in their sitting room demanding explanations about Chic 's negative result from the Blossoms' blood test, Alice revealed the reason why he resulted negative is that he's not Hal 's son.
Nevertheless, he was still her son and she reassured Chic about that. However, Betty wasn't satisfied and asked who was his real father, then.
Alice replied that whoever he is, he's not part of their life and there was no reason to reopen old wounds she healed many years over.
Alice then ended the conversation, hugging Chic on the sofa and leaving Betty speechless. Unbeknownst to her, a sinister smile formed on Chic's face as he glanced at Betty.
A few days later, Alice scolded Betty as soon as she got home, ordering her to come to the dining room where she was standing while Chic was sat at the table.
Alice immediately asked her daughter if it was true that she had sneaked into her brother's bedroom and tormented him with a Zippo lighter.
She was also interested in the exact use of a black wig she wielded under Betty's nose. Betty promptly accused Chic to be a creep searching among her stuff, but the young man replied he was just looking for the Zippo lighter as a proof but found the wig instead.
Alice asked why she even had a wig but Betty had no time to reply that Chic said she uses it when she has sex with Jughead.
Betty was shocked and angered, asking Chic how he can even know about that but Chic promptly replied he was just guessing.
Alice, shocked at the idea of Betty having sex, asked for a confirmation from her daughter and when she got it, she left the room almost in tears.
Next day, Alice went to Betty's room because she needed to know Betty was having safe sex. When Betty said she was, Alice was relieved because she knew very well how alluring and convincing the Jones boys can be, thus revealing that she and FP had a story.
She also admitted that she's not blind about his weirdness and she'd never forget what he's capable of but was also moved by the fact that he had no one loving him for the past 25 years and truly believed that he needed their love.
Alice hosted the hall meeting at Riverdale High School were students candidate to become study body president presented their programs to their schoolmates and their parents.
Slightly uncomfortable for some questions raised by Sweet Pea on issues between Northsiders vs. At the end of the meeting, Alice discussed with FP , telling him that he should be ashamed to allow her "innocent daughter" to live in their trailer.
FP called her out on this, saying he was sleeping on a pull-out sofa with Jughead to leave his bedroom to Betty.
Alice was surprised by this and silently listened to FP's advice to clarify things with Betty before it was too late, since he knew what it was like to have a son who preferred to sleep on the street rather than in his father's house.
Returning home , Alice found Chic sitting in front of the TV in the completely dark room. The boy was watching the news where they revealed police was investigating on a car recently found in Swedlow Swamp.
Alice immediately phoned FP, informing him that the police had found the Shady Man 's car. Jughead blamed himself but FP said they couldn't know that Junkyard Steve drags the swamp for people's castoffs.
He also asked why Chic wasn't there since he was the one who killed the man, but Alice said not to worry about him.
Much to her surprise, Betty agreed with her because Chic had nothing to do with the car. As soon as Sheriff Keller entered the diner, FP advised acting normal as if they have nothing to do with the car.
Alice backed him up, telling Betty to come home but her daughter refused to be manipulated.
A couple of days later at the Jones' trailer, Alice scolded both Betty and Jughead for asking Kevin questions about the police investigation.
Betty and Jughead revealed that they discovered the car was stolen and Chic said that the Shady Man - whose real name was Dwayne - always used his girlfriend's car.
When Betty said the woman who called Dwayne on the phone didn't sound much in love with him, Chic confirmed the possibility it was Darla.
Alice asked Chic if they had to worry about the woman, but Chic replied that he did not know her very well.
When Betty took advantage of the situation for bickering with Chic, Alice scolded her, saying she was coming home with them. She also threatened FP to team with her otherwise she'd tear the trailer apart with her bare hands.
She then helped Betty packing her stuff. In the evening, Alice was washing dishes when Betty told her to sign a document for permission to get a tattoo since she was "basically, a member of the Serpents ".
Alice freaked out at this eventuality and refused to sign the paper. The discussion was interrupted by Chic as soon as he returned home with Darla, whom he had been looking for in an attempt to help after Betty had accused him of being useless.
With shaking hands, Alice served tea while Darla made veiled threats, saying it was not the first time that Dwayne borrowed her car, but it was very strange that it had ended up in a swamp in Riverdale.
Alice was shocked when Dalra asked for ten thousand dollars he owned her in exchange for her silence on Dwyane's death. However, when Marcel, the guy who attacked Chic at the hostel in Centerville , joined Darla at the Cooper house, a terrified Alice called Betty and told her not to come home.
Unfortunately, Betty came home with the money and Alice was very frightened by Darla and Marcel's threats until Jughead, Sweet Pea, Fangs Fogarty and other young serpents broke into the house, forcing the two criminals to flee after threatening them.
After hugging Betty, Alice began to clean up the mess made by Marcel and Darla in the sitting room and warmly thanked Jughead.
She then asked Chic to leave the house by evening. Next day, Alice personally thanked the Serpents at school in one of their club meeting, saying that from that moment on she'll be on the Serpents' side and won't be ashamed anymore about her Southsider background.
Later, she visited FP at his trailer. At Riverdale High School , the cast of "Carrie: The Musical" to be directed by Kevin Keller and Fangs Fogarty began the introductions in the auditorium and Alice entered the stage introducing herself as the portrayer of "Margaret White," the religious-fanatic mother of Carrie White.
This choice left everyone surprised, but Kevin explained that while her casting was untraditional, to him there's nothing more than amateur than age-inappropriate casting.
Alice was both looking forward to playing Margaret and spending more time with Betty. After rehearsal, Cheryl sang "Carrie" to prove she was the right choice for the leading character and after her performance, she was almost crushed by a sandbox falling from the ceiling, scaring Alice and the other actors.
At evening, Alice visited FP at Pop's to tell him that she was cast in the school's musical and to ask if he would be stopping by to see her.
For the occasion, she was wearing a snake-skin blouse, leather jacket and trousers and high heels. However, she was soon upset by FP ignoring her.
Annoyed by this same recurring theme throughout their youth, Alice said that was afraid that their kids were going to make the same mistakes that they did; It turned out it was her and FP making the same mistakes.
She then left the diner. Next night at Cooper house , Alice called Chic. She was worried about him since she hasn't heard from him recently, but when he doesn't answer, she leaves a message saying that she loves him.
When Betty comes downstairs, Alice blames herself for kicking Chic out. The following day, Kevin informed the cast that Cheryl would no longer portray Carrie due to Penelope Blossom 's decision, which came to no surprise to Alice.
However, Alice's performance began to seem a bit too real and more so directed at Betty than Midge. Alice then looked to Betty in the crowd and told her not to leave her like everyone else, before running off the stage in tears.
After Betty reached her in the hallway to comfort her, Alice burst again into tears, saddened by all the recent events like giving up again on Chic, and the feeling that everything around her was crumbling.
She then revealed her marriage to Hal was ruined because of something unspoken that happened years ago. Opening night has arrived and Betty and Alice were too nervous to even eat.
Betty did however come through on her promise to do something to make her mom feel less abandoned and arranged Hal to brought her mother flowers.
Hal arrived with flowers for Betty and Alice but Alice immediately pointed out that she was allergic to peonies. Hal told Alice that he'd really like to come back home.
Alice agreed but said that for things to work this time there shouldn't be secrets. After asking Betty to leave them some privacy, Alice revealed that Chic isn't his son which Hal always suspected though he doesn't care anymore.
As she prepared to go on stage, Alice exchanged a few words with her husband without knowing that FP had seen them together. The play begins and the crowd is packed.
On stage, Alice sang "Evening Prayers" but when she cued Midge, the curtains raised only to reveal that Midge has been murdered by the Black Hood.
She has been stabbed with knives and scissors and pinned to the wall. On the wall, written in blood is a message.
H" Alice started screaming in fear as the crowd tried to escape from the auditorium. The town gathered at Midge Klump 's funeral and Alice paid her respects, attending the commemoration with Betty and Hal.
After the funeral, Sheriff Keller arrived at the Cooper house to question Chic as he was talking to everyone who was at Riverdale High School the night of the musical.
A couple people claimed they saw Chic backstage just before the show. Hal told the Sheriff that Chic no longer lives with them, but that they can bring him down to the station the next day.
The sheriff agreed and then left. Once he was gone, Alice wondered why Hal throw Chic under the bus. Hal questioned what Alice was worried that Chic will say.
Remembering that Hal has no idea about the murder that took place within the house, Betty interjected that Alice was just overprotective of Chic.
When Betty asked Alice if maybe Chic should leave town for all of their safety, Alice replied that Chic leaving town will only raise suspicions, which will result in law enforcement hunting him down.
She also added that, while talking to the Sheriff is a risk, it's one they have to take. Alice also insisted that Betty relax because she'll be coaching Chic.
After taking Chic down to the Sheriff's station for questioning, Alice invited him back to the house for dinner.
Even Betty and Jughead join them, where they accuse Chic of being an impostor. Alice told Betty to stop harassing him, but when she saw a photo that Betty took from a file at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy , Alice became suspicious.
Alice asked Chic for an explanation, but the guy grabbed a large kitchen knife and tried to stab Jughead, inadvertently cutting Alice's wrist.
However, Betty managed to disarm Chic before knocking him unconscious with a rolling pin. He woke up not long after. He called out to Alice's help, but Betty grew tired of his games.
They wanted answers, starting with Chic's real name. He insisted that he is Chic and then called out to Alice again for help, but she didn't respond.
Betty surmised that Chic must've known her real brother. When she and Alice went to the hostel and asked for Charles Smith , they were sent to Chic's room.
So Betty asks why Chic was impersonating him. Chic explained that he never said he was "Charles Smith". He said he was "Chic", during their first encounter.
Chic revealed that he met Charles out on the street. They then moved into the hostel together. That's where Charles told him about the Coopers.
A perfect family in Riverdale who gave him up for adoption and never even came looking for him.
One day, he knocked at the Coopers' door. Alice answered. She told him that they weren't interested, before slamming the door in his face.
Charles went on a bender that night and overdosed on Jingle Jangle. Alice ran upstairs in tears with Betty not far behind her.
Alice found Charles' picture that Betty showed her and gave it a good look and knows that Chic was telling the truth, at least about Charles stopping by the house.
Alice remembers turning Charles away at the front door. He knocked and Alice asked him to leave. She began to blame herself for killing her own son.
Betty tried to calm her, but Alice concluded that he is seeking revenge. She gave her son away and he came back to her only for her to turn him away.
This, Alice believed, it's biblical punishment. However, Betty argued that Chic is the only guilty person. Before leaving out the house, Alice requested that Betty stay at the house and watch Chic until she returns.
Alice arrived at FP 's trailer distraught and in tears, and said to FP that she should've told him sooner she had his child all those years ago, and she called him Charles.
But she had to give him up for adoption with the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. He came to see Alice and she turned him away.
Now he's dead, and Alice blames herself. She asked him if he remembers what happened between the two of them in high school, and she started to apologize for that, but she has to get back to Betty and Jughead now.
FP asked if Alice is talking about Chic, but she informed him that Chic is someone else entirely. FP hugged her and told her that everything will be alright.
Back at the house, Alice and Betty contemplated their next move while FP talked with Jughead outside. Betty suggested driving him out of town, but Alice feared that he'll only come back.
In the meantime, she decided that it was time to tell Hal the truth about everything as this affects all of their lives.
Once Hal arrived home, Alice revealed him the truth and the two had a heated discussion. Alice also confessed that she could not give Chic to the police since she was involved in the concealment of a corpse.
However, she lied about Betty's involvement in the cover-up. Sometime later, Alice was sitting on the steps, drinking her troubles away.
Alice asked Betty where she went and the girl replied that she took Chic away. Betty then notices that Hal was gone and Alice informed her that he went out looking for Betty.
At the Cooper house , Alice, Hal and Betty were having breakfast. Hal notices that Betty is troubled and asks if there is something on her mind.
Betty claims that she had been thinking and had come to the conclusion that Chic was a test. Everything that he did to them and brought on them was a test.
Betty believes that they're stronger after surviving it. Alice remarks that this supposed strength remains to be seen, but Betty is positive that they are stronger.
The next day, at the Cooper house, Betty sits at the table with her parents. Given that her father has been so busy at the Register , Betty proposes that Alice join him since she is already moderating the debate.
Both Alice and Hal agree. In the evening, Alice is left speechless by Betty when she reveals that when the Black Hood was first killing people, he was also calling her, asking her to do things as they were alike.
He offered to help get rid of Chic. So Betty delivered Chic to the Black Hood. And she's okay with being an accomplice in a murder.
She says all this to potentially bait Hal. Alice is left speechless. Hal holds Betty's hand and tells her about his own darkness.
When he was away from Betty and Alice, it felt like he was drowning it. This is why they need each other. The night of the Mayoral debate, Alice is on stage and welcomes all in attendance at the event.
Jumping right into the debate, fear and unrest rule the streets, so Alice asks how Hermione Lodge plans to restore safety to the town.
Hermione claims that they're already making strides. Not one week on the job, and he's supposedly apprehended Midge Klump 's murderer.
Fred argues that they don't actually know that Fangs Fogarty is the killer. Regarding his comment about calling for blood, Hermione enlightens him about the Dark Circle , who she refers to as a dangerous, radical group that traffics in terror, violence and street warfare.
This group, she points out, was started by Archie. The debate is abruptly interrupted by the Black Hood on the balcony with a rifle, who start shooting at the crowd.
Alice and everyone present run and hide for their safety. During the riots between Northsiders vs Southsiders, Alice is at the Register and is relieved to hear that Betty is okay.
When Betty asks about her father , Alice informs her that Hal is out calming the riots. Betty is on her way to the Register to join her mother, who is taking great pleasure in the chaos unfolding as it means headlines.
As a mayoral candidate, Hermione feels it's important to take charge in times of crisis. Like the riot, which she believes was brought about by the actions of the Black Hood.
She offers a bounty in hopes that it will calm the storm. Betty disagrees with the notion that a bounty will solve their problem.
Furthermore, she questions if it's even legal and is acting very odd about the Black Hood's actions.
Alice questions her sudden urge to act so protective of the Black but before Betty can reply, she receives a phone call from her cousin, Cheryl.
At the Cooper house , Alice is trying to understand why Betty tries to convince her to leave the house with her, but they are interrupted when Hal enters the living room, pleased to see that she made it home.
Alice explains that Hal came up with an idea to watch home movies. She figured she would indulge him given that they're practically on lock-down due to the riot.
Hal grabs the projector and plays for Alice and Betty old home videos of himself as a child, being disciplined by his mother.
Throughout her high school years, Hermione worked at local businesses such as the Bijou and Spiffany's. During her youth, some would have described Hermione as a mean girl, but flashbacks suggest that she was a rebelling Catholic girl who wore glasses and a Catholic school girl uniform.
She even believes her current misfortune was karma finally catching up to her. Together they had a daughter, Veronica. After the scandal, the only remaining property that was not seized because it was in Hermione's name was the luxurious apartment building, the Pembrooke, where she resides with her husband and daughter.

Making matters worse is the fact that Cheryl Madelaine Petsch tried to help Betty and told her about her mother and Betty's father, but that only drove even more of a wedge between Betty and Hal.

Turns out this entire time that Archie KJ Apa thought he was talking to an FBI agent, he was actually just being tested by none other than Hermione Lodge Marisol Nichols , who's been pulling the strings all along.
By the end of the episode, Archie refused to help the fake FBI agent take down Hiram Lodge Mark Consuelos , proving his loyalty to the Lodges, and Hermione confessed all about her sneaky test.
She officially welcomed Archie into the Lodge family, so he's about to be in deeper than he ever thought he would. But one major casualty came from all the Lodge shady business dealings, as Mayor McCoy Robin Givens was forced to step down from her office or else her secret affair with Sheriff Keller Martin Cummins would be exposed.
She chose to resign with her pride rather than be kicked out of office in scandal, and she'll be focusing her time on being an attorney moving forward.
